Welcome to another edition of Common Ground Online. Here's what's in this week's edition:
The historic 2009 Micronutrients for Mental Health Conference was recently held in San Francisco. Clinicians and researchers from as far away as Saudi Arabia and New Zealand attended to share their knowledge on the role of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and essential fatty acids in mental health.
The conference organizing committee, comprised of many of the world’s leading experts on the use of micronutrients in mental health, invited Truehope cofounders Anthony F. Stephan and David L. Hardy to speak at the conference. Here are a few excerpts from their remarks:
David L. Hardy: “I want you to know that our purpose as a company is to get this researched so that it can be put into the hands of the professionals that need to do this. Now, we've got a growing number of professionals that are doing this, and we're working with more and more all the time. And that's where we want to go.”
Anthony F. Stephan: "I believe in the past paradigm, that people did the best that they could with whatever tools they had. That's okay. We build better buildings today, better airplanes, better jets, better transportation systems than we ever did before. Our information systems have come ahead in a marvelous way. And now it's time to look at other areas, and I think that health is one of them."
