Case series - Bipolar Disorder
Diagnosis: Bipolar Affective Disorder
Name: Don N.
Starting Date on active treatment: June 19, 1997
Date of Diagnosis: Jan. 1996
Prescribed Medications: Paxil, Sedative for the PM (unknown), Serotonin

Don suffered for many years with the symptoms of Depression and Bipolar Affective Disorder. He was involved in a very unhealthy life style of drug and alcohol abuse and sought medical assistance. He was diagnosed and started treatment with Paxil and Ativan. This combination caused extreme mania and Serotonin supplementation was commenced. He attempted suicide twice. Eventually the Paxil was discontinued due to the manic episodes. His response to active treatment on the Truehope Program with nutrients was quite immediate. Within eight weeks he was virtually symptom free and off his medication. Don works with Truehope as a research assistant and continues to be very stable as at May 2001.
